The Church That Cares For Your Soul

The Key to Great Peace

Psalms 119:165  Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

Many of us are easily offended in life.  It is important that we develop thick skin as Christians.  When you love God’s law, really, nothing should bother you.  If you love God’s law, you will walk humbly.  When you are humble, pretty much anything will make you happy.  You could get chewed out and ridiculed and still have the peace of God in your heart.  When someone loves God’s law, they will have the fruit of the Spirit evidenced in their lives.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance (Gal 5:22-23).  The Bible says there is no law against it.   If God’s Spirit is controlling you and not your flesh, you will be longsuffering, gentle, and meek.  You won’t get upset with what people say to you.  You will be able to control your tongue.  That is a tall order for most of us.  Overcoming the flesh is a daily task.  You will have to fight it tooth and nail to let the Spirit have control.

When we let the spirit have control, we will not just have peace, but rather, great peace.  When you suffer wrongfully like our Lord, you can be reviled and hated and not spit it right back in someone’s face.  The only way that is happening is when the Spirit of God allows you to overcome the flesh.  It is highly unlikely that someone without the spirit of God is going to be able to do that.  Most Christians can’t do it either.  Let the Lord have control of your life each and every day.  Let bitterness, wrath, malice, and other works of the flesh be overcome by the fruit of the Spirit in your life.
