The Church That Cares For Your Soul

A Christian Should Be Patriotic

Acts 17:26-27 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

“There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all.”  Theodore Roosevelt

Patriotism Helps Promote the Gospel

Patriotism is showing a concern for your own people.  Patriotism is one of the things that God uses to spread the gospel.  The modern globalist wants to tear down all boundaries and make us all one.  The anti-christ’s goal for the final days here on earth is to destroy all borders.  Man is all of the same blood.  We all need the same Saviour.  There is not one group of people that God loves more than another; however, God put bounds or national borders up around nations for a reason.  It is so that each of those nations would contain a people that would haply seek God.

No Room For Hyphenated Americans

In a lot of ways, the destruction of borders in America has hindered people from haply seeking God.  Haply is an old English word meaning “by chance or perhaps”, according the to Webster’s 1828 Dictionary.  Borders help people to have more of a chance to get saved.  America is a conglomeration of various peoples; however, it used to be when someone immigrated to America, they left behind their nationality and became an American.  As Teddy Roosevelt said, there is no room for hyphenated Americanism.  You are not a German-American, you are an American; at least that is the way it used to be.  When you have a bunch of splinter groups within the boundaries of a nation, you have fighting and unrest.  Modern America is a prime example.  You wonder why it is so hard to see people get saved; it is partially because we are going against the Bible standard of boundaries and it produces unrest.

Patriotism Can Produce a God-Fearing Nation

As Christians, we need to stay loyal to our country, if for no other reason than that God likes patriotism.  Having borders is part of God’s method of seeing people saved.  A missionary should not try to convert people to become Americans, but rather to become godly Christians in the midst of whatever nation they are in–even if it is crooked and perverse (Phil 2:15).  Almost anything the world is for, you can usually bet on it being contrary to the Word of God; as is the case with globalism.  A Christian should be happy living in the nation they are from; that is especially true of America, which was founded on the Word of God.  Don’t ever make an apology for wanting to enforce borders on your country.  God likes borders.  The same is true of any nation; if you are a Canadian, you should be a patriotic Canadian.  Don’t let the anti-christ destroy your Biblical world view.
