The Church That Cares For Your Soul
A Good Word

A Good Word

A good word from someone can often help us make it through the day.  It is also good to give good words to others.

Proverbs 12:25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

A Good Word

A good word from someone can often help us make it through the day.  It is also good to give good words to others.  There are many in this world who are hurting and need help.  A heavy heart can cause us to stoop under the load and want to give up.  The Bible says that two are better than one and a three-fold cord is not quickly broken.  That is one of the reasons God gave us the institution of marriage so that one could be an encouragement to the other.  When your spouse is down, do you try and encourage or do you discourage?  When someone is hurting because of being beat up because of this life, do you give a good word even when things seem hopeless?  The Bible calls it charity.  The tongue can be a deadly poison or it can be a balm of Gilead.  How do you use it?

Heaviness

Heaviness is something that we all have to deal with.  It can cause the heart to get sick under despair.  When we lose comforts in this life and things don’t always go the way we would like, it bring the heart low or make it stoop down.  A heavy heart can be good if it causes you to seek the Lord.  Heaviness can also come from demonic oppression at times.  The devil certainly was trying to discourage Job.  Let’s try and do our best to encourage one another.  You really do not know what some else may be going through.  We need to count the mercies and graces that the Lord has given us.  Think on pure things, holy things, and good things like the Bible says.  This will help to get your mind off your problems. The Bible is the best “good word” you can get to make your heart feel glad.  The world’s approach is to drink or do drugs to forget their heaviness.  We need to get our strength from the Lord.
