Bearing Burdens

Galatians 6:2 – Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Is thy cruse of comfort wasting? Rise and share it with another, And through all the years of famine, It shall serve thee and thy brother. Is thy burden hard and heavy? Do thy steps drag heavily? Help to bear thy brother’s burden; God will bear both it and thee.  – ELIZABETH CHARLES.

Sometimes we want to just wallow in self pity. That is not the way God wired Christians.  He made us to help each other.  Like the widow with the barrel of meal in the Old Testament we need to go all in for God even when things look bleak.  God sustained her and the prophet. If she would not have helped the man of God, she would have starved.

Christ bore our burden on the cross of Christ.  We ought to be able to fulfill the law of Christ and bear the little crosses of one another.  If God has given you a respite for a while, try and help a brother who is weaker at the moment.  Sooner or later you will need him to bear you up.  Even when you are suffering you should try and help another.  As Mrs. Charles says God will bear both you and your brother up through it.

So try and help where you can and encourage someone today.
