The Church That Cares For Your Soul

Face Answers to Face

When you look into still water, you can see a reflection of your face.  You face answers to the reflection of your face in the water.

Proverbs 27:19 As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.

Face Answers to Face

When you look into still water, you can see a reflection of your face.  You face answers to the reflection of your face in the water.  If you smile, the face in the water smiles. They follow each other.  They mimic each other.  The same is true of the human heart.  It reflects what is put into it.  If worldly is put into your heart, it will reflect worldliness.  It just reflects what is put into it.  If you put the Word of God into your heart, it will begin to reflect godliness and righteousness.  The heart is like a mirror.  It does not have its own mind completely. Yes the heart is desperately wicked and is difficult to know or follow, however, it can be remoulded with some work.  If you begin to put in good, it will begin to reflect the good you put in.  It can be changed from evil to good in this manner.

A Reflecting Pool

In architecture, a large, shallow pool of water was often placed near a garden or structure in order to reflect an image of it.  This would make the features of the garden or structure more striking to the eye by doubling the image.  When we reflect the light and glory of our Heavenly Father, it accentuates the glory He put there when he saved us.  However, the only way His glory is placed in our heart is through a voluntary choice on our part to build a structure or garden using the Word of God.  The Bible puts right images in our mind to be reflected in our heart to the world.   When this is done, the world sees the glory of God in a doubled image.

The Moon

The moon reflects the light of the sun.  It produces no light of its own.  It might not be much light, but it is brighter than any light in the night sky.  We also reflect the light of God’s Son in our life.  We reflect like the moon what is in our heart.  We can also see a lot of our imperfections in our surface like we can see in the moon.  However, the moon produces light to guide the traveler.  It is enough.  When we produce light, we can help sinners get to the Saviour despite our problems.
