The Church That Cares For Your Soul

Getting Behind the Man of God

1 Samuel 10:26-27 And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and there went with him a band of men, whose hearts God had touched. But the children of Belial said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.

Getting Behind the Man of God

A band of men followed Saul home whom the Lord had touched.  I believe there is a calling of a group of people to get behind a particular man of God.  You need to be behind your pastor.  I hope the Lord has touched your heart to do so.  There have been many a child of Belial through the years who have torn down pastor after pastor and destroyed churches.  It kind of starts out without people not “bringing presents” to the man of God.  When people quit giving to the work of God or the church, they have quit giving to the man of God as well.  Where you put your money tells a lot about your heart.

Touched to Help a King

During a presidential election, there are those who put their support behind a candidate.  They devote their time, talent, and money to helping him get elected.  They likely expect a position in return when they do it.  When you put yourself behind the man of God, when the Lord touches your heart, you get blessed by the ministry of that man of God.  It is God’s way that he often blesses His people through the man of God.  You also need to give to the efforts the man of God is behind.  The man of God should call the shots and you need to get behind it.  When you get behind the man of God, you are getting behind what God wants.  These men who had their hearts God touched assembled into a band.  They got together to support the king.  We should do the same for the man of God as well.  We need to stick together as a church and help one another.  A local church is what everyone needs.  Get behind the man of God today.
