The Church That Cares For Your Soul

God’s Faithfulness Runs Like Clockwork

Genesis 8:20-22 And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

God’s Faithfulness in the Earth

When God promised Noah that he would not curse the ground any more after the flood, even knowing man’s heart is only evil, that was a promise of His mercy.  We should never take God’s mercy for granted.  By taking it for granted, I mean that we should never sin willfully, knowing that God will forgive us.  God promised to keep this earth running like a clock until He comes back.  He said the seasons would change, there would be crops and food, there would be day and night, and the earth would rotate on its axis. It would all run like clockwork as a testimony to God’s faithfulness.  So each morning when you wake up, the sun comes up, there is fresh snow on the ground, you can say in your heart that God is faithful.  His ultimate reminder of His faithfulness is the rainbow.

God’s Faithfulness in Our Lives

If the Lord is faithful in his work of keeping this earth working, surely he is faithful in the life of the born again, child of God.  We must trust each and every day that He works everything out for our good.  We need to trust that He wants what is best for us, even when on the outside it may not look so great.  Just like the earth keeps going on like clockwork, day after day; we can be sure that the Lord is working in our lives just as consistently, never forgetting us, always on time.  When we doubt that God has our best interest at heart, we are showing a lack of faith.  The Lord wants us to trust Him and the promises in His word.  We should be as consistent in our faith as the four seasons of the year.  Things may not work out the way you want them to, but you can always know that God is faithful and He cares about you.
