The Church That Cares For Your Soul

Waiting On God

Psalms 13:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

Sometimes when the Lord does not answer our prayers as fast as we want we quickly begin to think He has forgotten us.  David thought, at times, it was forever. We think the same way.  Patience is one of those virtues that takes a Christian a long time to learn. We are told to add to temperance patience, in II Pet 1:6.  Waiting on God is part of growing as a Christian.

When God hides His face from us, he is trying to increase our faith.  It would be easy to believe God if we always got what we asked for instantly.  When you start to think like that, you become like Jannes and Jambres before Pharoah and Moses.  You think you can almost use God like a genie.  That is not the way God operates.

The Lord has promised to take care of those that are his.  He will at times hide his face from us.  He will not speak to us in order to try our faith; as well as deliver us in His time, not our time.  The Lord has a purpose behind everything He does.  The Lord calls the shots, not us.  Are you going to let Him call the shots in your life and deliver you when He sees fit?
