The Church That Cares For Your Soul
Worth More Than a Bird

Worth More Than a Bird

Despite what the environmentalist say, you are worth more than a bird.  God watches out for all his creatures great and small, however, he is most concerned with man.

Matthew 10:29-31 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Worth More Than a Bird

Despite what the environmentalist say, you are worth more than a bird.  God watches out for all his creatures great and small, however, he is most concerned with man.  If He knows about our physical needs and characteristics in great detail, He certainly knows about our spiritual needs which are of far greater importance.  God wants a relationship with us more than we want a relationship with Him.  He created us.  We did not create Him.  He took the time and effort to create a special creature that could fellowship with Him out of choice.  When that creature failed Him and went against His Word, he went to great lengths to get the fellowship and love back that He so desired.  He sent His Son to the cross to die for us as a result.  We were worth the price of His blood.  That is a lot more than the cost of a sparrow.  But God still knows when that sparrow falls.

Fear Ye Not Therefore

Because we are worth a whole lot more than a sparrow, we can take comfort in God’s care for us.  We should not fear what man or circumstances of this life can do to us.  We can have confidence that God is always watching out for us.  Somethings may happen to us that we don’t really like but God is still in control and knows every detail.  He has designed every detail.  He is counting the hairs and knows where hair 6,893 is at right now (probably falling out and going down the drain).  We say we believe in the omniscience of God but we rarely practice it by living a life of faith.  When one of the sparrows falls to the ground and dies, what happens to that lone sparrow?  God still knows about him and where he is at.  He cares for takes care of that lone sparrow.  He will take care of you too.  You are worth more than a bird and God knows what you need.  Give it over to God today whatever it may be that is bugging you.
