Galatians 3:1. O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
Bewitched
Being bewitched is to be fascinated or charmed by this world. Many a modern Christian is “bewitched” by this world. They become fascinated or overpowered by the things of this world. As that happens, they see less and less the need to obey the truth. The death of Christ becomes of little value to them. We need to be careful as Christians that we do not become bewitched by the politicians, radio talk show hosts, newscasters, or other voices, into being convinced that the things of God and the Bible are old fashioned and no longer apply to modern life.
The Siren Song of the World
When you got saved, Christ was set before your eyes. You were convinced of the gospel, that it was true, that it was the only way to heaven. It was evident in your life. There was a change in your desires and actions. The problem is when you start to backslide and you become less and less convinced of the truths of the word of God. We need to be very careful we don’t let the siren song of the world bewitch us and we become fascinated and charmed by this world.
Don’t Become Politically Correct
Christ died for your sins and you need to keep that at the forefront of your mind. You need to keep it there at all times. Otherwise, you will soon become politically correct and begin to despise the things of God and his truths. When you are bewitched, you will become easily deceived. Truth is not the most important thing. Evil spirits can overcome you if you are not careful. Don’t become bewitched by this world. Let God’s Spirit have control of your life. He will keep our heart and mind.
