Ephesians 2:11-13 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Remember Where You Came From
We need to remember where we came from. Before we were saved, most of us were Gentile dogs. Even if you were raised in a Christian family, you were still outside the covenants and promises of God. We were aliens. That means we did not belong to the country we now possess. We were foreigners to the Kingdom of God and of Christ. We did not have any hope, we only possessed hell as our future home. Worst of all, we did not have the presence of God in our lives. That is where you came from before you were saved.
Remember Where You are Going
We need to remember where we are going. We are made nigh to heaven and the things of God, not because we have our own righteousness, but rather because we have His blood applied to our soul. Before we were saved, we had no clue about the things of God and how to live right. Holiness is not something the average lost person is concerned about. The things of God were just strange to you. Christians were strange, as well. We need to thank God for His presence in our heart and life. One day we will be rid of this vile body of flesh. At that point, we will have a new body just like Christ’s body. We will be in His presence serving him for all eternity, and liking it. Remember where you came from and where you are going.
