Psalms 119:10. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
A Half-hearted Attempt at Living For God
There are not a lot of whole-hearted Christians in this world. Many will give a half-hearted attempt at living for God for a short period of time, but few will try to live a life that is whole-hearted. Christ said the first commandment is to love the Lord thy God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. That is what makes a whole-hearted Christian. There is nothing left on the table. You give it your all with your love of God.
Selling Out – Lock, Stock and Barrel
Selling out to God, “lock, stock and barrel” is what God truly wants from us, as Dr. Don Green has said. God wants the whole gun, not just a few pieces. We think that God is pleased with our crumbs and half-hearted service. We think that God understands, and he does. He knows our frame; that it is but dust. However, the bar is set high and God wants our best. This world encourages laziness in our schools and in our attitudes. We need to be fervent in our service for the Lord. When we wander from God’s commandments, we are sliding backwards from God’s law. We quit doing what we used to do. The issue is, we have become half-hearted. Don’t let the attitude of this world affect you. Try to seek God with your whole heart.
