Galatians 4:1. Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
The Christian Has it All in Christ
The heir and the servant are no different, for all practical purposes, until the heir comes of age to take over his father’s inheritance. The Christian, however, is not just an heir waiting on his inheritance. When the Christian is saved, he immediately gets Jesus Christ’s righteousness applied to his account. We may be children, but we still have full access to the throne room of God at this very moment. Yes, we are waiting to receive a millienial inheritance in the Kingdom of Heaven one day; however, we are seated in heavenly places at this very moment.
We Have the Victory Through Christ
We are privileged as children of God. We have all that we need to live above sin, if we so desire. We have power to overcome sin because of the Holy Ghost, that now resides inside us. We have to consciously decide to sin. We have to give into the this flesh. Before we were saved, we had no power to overcome sin. We were masters to it. We are told to not be children in doctrine but to grow in grace. An evidence of us growing as Christians will be seen each and everyday when we do not yield to the flesh. We are not servants to sin. One day we will have everything that belongs to the father, including this earth and everything in it. It will come back to God’s people.
