Col 3:22-23 – Not with eye-service, as men-pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God. Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.

Heb 5:14 – But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Every duty, even the least duty, involves the whole principle of obedience. And little duties make the will dutiful, that is, supple and prompt to obey. Little obediences lead into great. The daily round of duty is full of probation and of discipline; it trains the will, heart, and conscience. We need not to be prophets or apostles. The commonest life may be full of perfection. The duties of home are a discipline for the ministries of heaven. H. E. MANNING.

Life is full of things that must be done. Obedience to the Lord is how we show our love for him.  We can obey with a good attitude unto the Lord or a bad attitude and produce a bunch of wood, hay and stubble that will burn up at the judgment seat of Christ.  As Manning says, doing the little things well throughout life is good training for when major decisions come your way.   Training the will, heart and conscience is critical to living a life of obedience to the Lord.

It takes a full age or mature Christian to have the senses and instinct based on a thorough understanding of the Word of God.   Having a single heart is critical to making good decisions in life.  As you grow in the Lord, I hope you are not tripped up by the little things.  As we go through experience and that produces hope and faith, it is easier to make faith filled decisions.  Our senses become exercised and we build up spiritual muscles that can bear the burdens of life,

So remember, everything God brings our way is something God can use to train us and grow us.  Submitting to His will and letting Him have control of our lives is what pleases Him.  Remember a boy grows through food, exercise and rest.  So does a Christian in the spiritual sense.
