The desire of the slothful is going to kill him. He wants things but he does not have the initiative to work. He refuses to work according to the Word of God. The Bible still says that if any man does not work, he should not eat. The hunger for food has been a good motivator for getting people to work for almost 6000 years of human history. The invention of social programs and the invasion of socialistic societies around the world has enabled multiple generations of slothfulness. As soon as you remove the desire for food, people can become very slothful. This has enabled greed in many Americans and others around the world. When you have nothing to do but sit around and think of things to covet, you soon become very carnal. Even the 40 hour work week enables some of this. When you have too much time on your hands, you start to look for things to covet.
