1 Corinthians 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
The Sting of Death
The sting of death is sin. For the born again, child of God, their sin has been paid for on the cross of Calvary. The Lord took the sting for us when He died in our place. Praise the Lord! For the lost the sting is still there. It is the beginning of an eternity of eternal death. It will be a sting that will never go away. The grave will not hold the child of God down either. One day, we will get a body like unto His glorious body. We will be like the Son of God. We will be bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh.
The Rapture
The rapture will happen one day. It may be today. It may be tomorrow. It may be years from now. No man knows the day or the hour. We can know the season though. It is certainly rapture season. Our Lord could come any day. One day the Christians that have died will rise first and then those that are alive will follow right after. They will all meet the Lord in the air. Somehow God is going to bring those departed souls back from heaven, put them in a glorified body, raise them from the dead, meet Him in the air and then go right back to heaven for seven years. After that, they will take a quick horse ride back to earth to clean things up at the end of the tribulation at the Battle of Armageddon. Does that mean the Christians going around heaven now don’t have any bodies? I don’t know but it would seem to be that way. I am sure there is somethings we just don’t understand.
