Proverbs 20:3 It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
Meddling
Meddling in things that are not our business seems to be human nature. There are lots of reasons why we meddle but for the most part they are not good. We meddle in other people’s business because we think we know better. That would indicate pride. We think we can correct things or try to get people to change. We think our point of view is better and so we try and convince others. What often happens is strife and contention. It is more honorable to just let things go. You are not going to change most people unless they really want your help.
Do Right Rather Than Be Right
For the most part, people could care less what you think especially if you are 20-30 years old. You could be esteemed a man or woman of honor just by keeping your mouth shut at times. Instead, you try and correct every wrong in the world. It is better to do right than to be right. The best way to see people change and get their hearts right with God is often just to pray for them. Occasionally the Lord may open the door for you to say something and help someone, but trying to correct someone all the time is not ordained of the Lord. I am not talking about parents or teachers correct children here. You would find out that the less you meddle the less strife and trouble you would have. Try to cease from strife and meddling. Keep your nose in your own business. The Lord will be pleased.
