1 Chronicles 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

A Perfect Heart and a Willing Mind

Solomon was commanded by David to serve God with a perfect heart and a willing mind.  A willing mind is one that has decided to serve God even though it might not always accomplish its goal.  God promised that if we seek, he will be found of us.  It might not be as quick as we would like but he said he will reveal himself to us.  Finding the will of God for your life or a particular matter is not always easy.  Keeping your heart perfect before the Lord will help.

The Lord Will Search Your Heart

The Lord will search your heart and the imaginations of your thoughts to see if you really have a willing mind and a perfect heart.  It is best if we do a pre-screen of our heart with the Word of God.  Let the Word work on you and convict you as you read it and meditate on it.  Get sin out of your life and keep your heart right.  You don’t need to live a sinless life to have a perfect heart.  A good heart will repent and get right quickly.  It is sensitive to the spirit’s leading.  Let the Lord search your heart.  He will help you to keep your heart right if you let Him.
