Psalms 119:9. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
Fewer Young Men Living For God
There are fewer and fewer young men nowadays who want to live for God. They do not want to cleanse their ways. They would rather live a life of selfishness. Few are ready to take on the responsibility of taking care of a family and setting up housekeeping. By the time a man is 20 years old, he should start thinking about living a life worthy of being a godly husband and father. If you are that age or older and have not done so, you need prepare yourself to be married. I am sure the average young man thinks he is ready for marriage but few really are.
Take Heed to God’s Word
The best way to prepare is by taking heed to the word of God. Young men need to not just clean up to be a godly husband and father, rather they need to live for God because he died for them. Being prepared spiritually is the first step to being a godly young man ready for marriage. Many have a list of what they want in a spouse, however, few are preparing themselves to be what they want. We need godly young men in our churches today. There are far too many women who dominate our churches in number because of all the sorry men in our society.
Don’t Let the Flesh Pull You Out
When men fail to listen to and practice God’s word, they will soon backslide and get out of church. The flesh seems to have more pull on men. You need to guard against the flesh even more so as a man. Clean up your way and live godly. Be a strong example to the teens and other young men in the church. Paul told Timothy to let no man despise his youth. That was because Timothy was a godly example. Are you a Timothy in your church? Are you ready to be a godly husband and father? You need to prepare for that and whatever the Lord has for you in the work of God.
