The Church That Cares For Your Soul

Ministry of Truth

…And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Genesis 3:1

…for he is a liar, and the father of it.

John 8:44

I started the title of this blog out today with a term from George Orwell’s 1984. In this book, the Ministry of Truth controls what people should think and relabels whatever the government wants people to think as truth. This is often done by rewriting history, changing the truth or making things up from whole cloth. In reality, Satan has been trying to do this with mankind since the garden of Eden. He questioned the authority and governance of man by God. He did not like the rules God established and went about to make his own rules that he would then thwart on man. He went to the weakest in society and convinced them that the truths of God’s Word were not as they seemed. The lies that perpetuated from this encounter with Eve, led to the fall of man. As a result, man was immediately exposed to both good and evil, when before he lived in blissful ignorance of evil.

The lesson to be learned from the fall here is that controlling the narrative is what led to the fall. Satan changed God’s Word and made it into what he wanted. In reality it was a lie. The lie was accepted by deception and trickery. As Christians, we are warned by Christ not to be deceived.

And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

Luke 21:8

We must take heed and not be deceived in this day and age. Unfortunately, the average Christian has more exposure to the world and the Ministry of Truth than the Word of God. As a result, the Christian is deceived into a lie and soon begins to believe it. As Christians, we often don’t need the world to deceive us, we often deceive our own selves. This happens often due to pride and a desire to make one’s own self look better than they really are. As Christians, we need to make sure we get our acceptance from God and not man. When we ask the Lord to examine us, we are less likely to be deceived. The world will continue to try and control what they deem as true. They have been deceived into believing that there is no life after death and they can live as they please. With no accountability to God, they can make their own rules on what is right and wrong and then try and force others to believe their false ways.
