Proverbs 16:8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.
Not Being Rich
Not being rich can be a blessing. It is best to have just a little and have a righteous life. We look at not having enough money, at times, as a curse. In reality, having a simple job, that keeps you in the house of God and around your family every day, is really best. There are many who chase a dollar and have great revenue and wealth. Most of the time, even as Christians, it cost them something to get to where they are. They have to give up some freedom or benefit, like church, or other things. They have to sacrifice the eternal on the altar of the immediate.
Don’t Compromise to Get More
Don’t be that person who compromises on God in order to get just a little more money. You might not ever “get ahead”. You might just have to live your entire life paycheck to paycheck. I am not saying that saving is not a good thing, it is. But some have so much money, they could not begin to spend it, especially on anything of eternal value. The real people who give in this country are not the uber rich. It is the guy who works, day after day, just to put food on the table; and sacrifices to give his tithe and faith promise missions, week after week, a little at a time. He is the one who is laying up treasure in heaven, not Bill Gates.
Value The Things God Values
We need to value the things that God values. We need to be content with where God has us in this lot in life. We might not have the greatest (though we do have way more than we deserve), we do have the blessings of the righteous. We have treasure we can send to heaven before hand. Our “little” can go a long way with God. There is much in it when God multiples it. I would rather have a little with a righteous life than have a ton of money with a wicked life, that compromises on God. So quit coveting the life of the rich and famous. They are not as happy as they would have you to think. If they were, they would not be doing so many drugs. Thank God for having a little, and a righteous life. You truly are the most blessed.
