The blind man here in Bethsaida was not looking for the Lord. He had others that brought him.
Mark 8:22 And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.
The Blind Man
The blind man here in Bethsaida was not looking for the Lord. He had others that brought him. He did not even have enough faith of his own to seek the Lord’s touch. Others had to beseech Jesus to touch him in order to heal him. Do we try to bring the blind and lost to the Lord? They cannot find their way there on their own. They need to help to find the Lord because they cannot see spiritual things. The lost are spiritually blind. They don’t know what they cannot see. They might not even care if they can see since they have never seen before. If you had never had sight and been blind from birth, you would have nothing to gage the value of sight against. Sight is a very precious gift from God. How much more is spiritual sight?
They Besought the Lord
The saved besought or looked for the Lord in order to bring the lost to him. We beseech the Lord in prayer for the lost. We ask the Lord to work on people’s hearts in order to draw them to him. We look for opportunities to give the gospel to the lost and for what to say. These men asked the Lord to simply touch this man. They knew the power of that touch because they had seen it before. We have seen the touch of God on our lives and we know the power of it. Based on our experience, we have faith that the Lord can do again what He has done before. The blind need us to stand in the gap and ask the Lord to help them. They need help and we are the only ones who can pray for them. The blind man needs you today. Can you help him get to Jesus?
