Korah, Dathan and Abiram were spiritually blind. They thought everyone of the children of Israel were holy.
Numbers 16:3 And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the Lord?
They Are Not All Holy
Koran, Dathan and Abiram were spiritually blind. They thought everyone of the children of Israel were holy. I think a lot of Baptist preachers are under the false impression that their congregations are a lot more holy than they really are. When you start thinking you are holy and you really are carnal, you start to think the people that are really holy, like Moses, are just blowing a bunch of hot air. False judgments like that can end up getting you in a lot of trouble like Korah, Dathan and Abiram. You would be surprised by just how few people are saved in most Baptist churches. They come and go, but they live their lives just like the heathen. There is nothing holy about them. All the congregation are not holy like Korah, Dathan and Abiram claim. The Lord is not among all of them either. People cannot stand to see you live a holy life. Either they falsely lift themselves to your level or they will try and cut you down to their level.
Not Just Any Man But God’s Man
When you start thinking your preacher is just like anyone else when he has a walk with God, you are treading on dangerous ground. God put his men in a special class like Moses. A good pastor is worthy of double honor. He also is not to be rebuked or accused at the whim of a hat. God protects his men, even when they maybe don’t make the right decisions all the time. Moses married an Ethiopian woman contrary to what the law said about the Jews marrying outside the tribes of Israel. The problem was when people started complaining or blaming the man of God about things. Really their problem was with God and not Moses, they just needed to find someone or something to blame besides their own wicked, carnal hearts. God will cover for his man and some of the mistakes they make. Your pastor is God’s man and needs to be honored. You need to stick up for your pastor when Korah, Dathan and Abiram show up saying bad things about him. The best thing you can do is just get away from them and not be around them. The other option is you get sucked into a big sink hole like them. Honor God’s man and live a holy life of humility like Moses.
