John 10:10. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Without Christ, you cannot have abundant life. You might be alive and breathing, but you do not have life, true life that will last for ever. Also, your life is not abundant and satisfying when all you have is the things of the world. The only way you are truly going to be satisfied is when you are doing what you were designed to do – that is to please God. We bring pleasure to God when we don’t try to get eternal life some other way than what God intended. Getting abundant life other than through Calvary is thievery.
Abundant life is available. The problem is most people don’t know what it is and where it can be found. Most think that if they have just a little more money, a little more fun, a few more friends, that they will be truly happy and have the abundant life. That is not how it works. The more you have of those things, the less satisfied you will eventually become. The pleasures of sin only last a little while. They soon come to an end.
Real abundant life lasts forever. It will satisfy more and more. The closer you get to God, the more abundant your life will become. The more you learn about God and the more you fellowship with Him, the more satisfied you will be. The pleasures of eternal life last forever. They will never come to an end. Do you have abundant life? If not, you need to get the real thing.
