The Church That Cares For Your Soul

God Hides From His Saints

Psalms 13:1. To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

God Hides From His Saints

Sometimes God hides Himself from his choicest saints. We may get this notion when God does not answer our prayer in the time we think it should be answered. Like David, we think that God has forgotten about us.  We are sure that we have dropped off God’s radar and he no longer knows what we are doing or what we are about.  We accuse God of just not caring. What this really shows is a lack of faith. Though it is good to be honest with God, just like David is here, it shows we have lost confidence in God because things are not going the way we would like them to go.  Job had the same questioning of God’s goodness when he thought God was no longer paying any attention to his life.

We Need to Trust God All the Time

We need to trust God’s goodness and care for us, at all times, in our life.  We truly have to believe that all things work together for good when we love God and trust Him.  God has a purpose for each and everyone of our lives. He cares about little sparrows and he cares about you. God may hide his face, but he will not forget about those who are His own. It is during this time of God’s hiding that we can truly learn to trust God and live a life of faith. If there was nothing to trust God about, it would be a life of living by sight.  When we can’t see God or feel His presence, that is when we have to live by faith and just believe His Word.  We need to trust God when He hides from us, no matter what comes our way.
