A Whole-Hearted Christian

A whole-hearted Christian will seek the Lord at any cost.  He will not give up.

Psalms 119:2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

Whole Hearted – Not Half Hearted

The blessings of God come to Christians that live holy lives and then seek God with their whole heart.  Unfortunately we are often half-hearted in our Christian walk.  A whole-hearted Christian is one that does not give up.  He does what needs to be done for the Lord.  There are testimonies or the laws of God that we break when we do things.  Then there are laws that we break when we don’t do what we should.  Both are breaking God’s testimonies.

Seeking

To be a whole-hearted Christian, we need to seek and search out the Lord.  Often God, in a sense, will hide from us.  We start to feel and wonder if he is really there, if he is hearing our prayers, our cries, our thoughts.  When playing hide and seek, it is important to not give up but to keep searching even when someone is hid really well.  God wants to try us and see what our faith is made of.  He wants us to seek Him at any cost.

Not Giving Up

A whole-hearted Christian will not give up.  He will keep looking.  In Song of Solomon, the bride ran through the whole city searching diligently for the bride-groom.  She would not give up.  Why?  Because she loved him so much.  She was “sick” with love.  That should be the kind of love we have for the Lord.  A love that would seek Him at all costs, just for a glimpse of Him, even if it is just for a moment.
