The Church That Cares For Your Soul

Being Presumptuous With the Lord

Sometimes we can be presumptuous with the Lord.  When you move out without the guidance and direction of the Lord or you just flat out rebel against what He plainly told you not to do, you are being presumptuous with the Lord.

Deuteronomy 1:43 So I spake unto you; and ye would not hear, but rebelled against the commandment of the Lord, and went presumptuously up into the hill.

Being Presumptuous With the Lord

Sometimes we can be presumptuous with the Lord.  When you move out without the guidance and direction of the Lord or you just flat out rebel against what He plainly told you not to do, you are being presumptuous with the Lord.  We need the guidance and direction of the Lord in all that we do.  Keeping your heart right with God is so important.  In those moments of weakness when you are not right with God, you can make a bad decision that could affect you for the rest of your life or even eternity.  God is reminding the children of Israel about a mistake that father’s made forty years before about being presumptuous.  There are a lot of people who soy God told them to do certain things.  However, it is obvious God was not within a million miles of their decision since it is contrary to His word.

Up Into the Hill

The bad decision made by the children of Israel here was a place they went, it was up into a hill.  Often when people are presumptuous, they often get out of the geographic will of God for their lives.  Moving away from a good church for a better job where there isn’t a good church is getting out of the geographic will of God for your life.  Adding a line about praying about it and God telling you to do it does not really help.  Sometimes staying in the will of God is not always easy.  You may need to admit you were wrong like the children of Israel here.  They needed to repent of their bad decision to not go into the promise land and accept God’s punishment.  When we move out in life, it is so important that we have the mind of God before we head up the hill without His presence presumptuously.
